I’ve always believed in being proactive about health. Recently, blood tests revealed an extremely high red blood cell count. That’s not good news. Thick blood increases the risk of clotting, strokes, and heart attacks. On top of that, I deal with the debilitating fatigue that comes with Sjögren’s syndrome. Some days, it’s hard to function at all.
That’s why I’ve started intravenous oxygen therapy, also known as blood oxidation. Here’s the process: a small amount of blood is drawn, infused with oxygen, and then returned to my body.
Why try this therapy?
It improves oxygen delivery to tissues, tackling fatigue head-on.
Extra oxygen can bind to toxins and help remove them from the body.
It supports circulation, especially for people with diabetes or poor blood flow.
It may lower the risks linked to high red blood cell count by improving oxygenation.
This is the first of ten sessions. Supplements and vitamins play their part, but sometimes you need a stronger intervention. My doctor confirmed that with my high hemoglobin and blood viscosity, this therapy is a way to bring balance back.
The bigger picture: you don’t have to settle for feeling unwell. Whether it’s blood oxidation or another targeted therapy, there are steps you can take to feel better and reclaim your energy.
For me, today’s session was 200 milliliters of oxygenated blood back into my system — a small step in a bigger journey to stay strong, healthy, and energized.
